  1. Welcome to my Randomizer Nuzlocke 'Softcore' version of Fire Red!
  2. 1- Nuzlocke challenge:
  3. - You may only catch the first Pokémon you encounter the first time you step on a route or path (with some exceptions), e.g: enter Route 2 and find a Pidgey, catchable; find a Rattata on the same route after that, not catchable.
  4. - Exception to this rule is Route 1, in which the 'first encounter' is counted AFTER you get the Pokédex.
  5. - Nickname all your Pokémon. If they don't mean something to you and are unique in what they do, then why bother making a nuzlocke?
  6. - If a Pokémon faints, it is considered DEAD. This means you CAN NOT REVIVE THEM, HEAL THEM OR USE THEM AGAIN IN BATTLE. Also you must dispose of it right away, by putting it in the computer and realeasing them.
  7. - Exception to this is the starter Pokémon which might be revived in a Pokémon Center ONLY.
  8. - Since HMs are a thing in this game, you MAY 'save' some dead Pokémon that could be a potential HM learner, e.g: you find a flying type Cubone (more on this later), since it's flying you have a 90% chance that it will be possible to learn Fly. He dies and you can deposit it without releasing him.
  9. - If you have dead HM slaves in your party, you CAN'T use them at all. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  10. 2- Softcore challenge:
  11. - NO BACKTRACKING UNLESS COMPLETELY NECESSARY (you may however go through the Diglett cave to get Flash).
  12. - You may heal Pokémon as many times as you want on Pokecenters of a town which you just arrived. You may also use potions and the like ONLY IF THERE ARE AT LEAST 3 TRAINERS LEFT IN THE ZONE (counting rival encounters).
  13. - You win the game by beating the 2nd Round of the Elite Four. You lose if you black out to the same trainer twice.
  14. - You MUST fight EVERY trainer you SEE ON SCREEN. No exceptions.
  15. 3- Randomizer challenge:
  16. - Trade evolutions are replaced with 'evolve when Lv X'. Trade with item evolutions are replaced by evolution stones.
  17. - National Pokédex at start, so all starter Pokémon can evolve.
  18. - Held items are randomized, for Pokémons you receive and catch alike.
  19. - Random stat distribution on all the Pokémon, as long as it still falls under the original base stat total of the Pokémon, e.g: a Totodile may have 64 base HP, and 50 base everything else (for a total of 314). Evolutions follow the same path as the unevolved Pokémon, e.g: if Totodile had low ATK and high SP ATK, Croconow will as well.
  20. - Starter Pokémon may be any Pokémon with at least two evolutions, e.g: Totodile, Wrumple and Trapinch.
  21. - Random Pokémon types. Evolutions follow their pre-evolutions, e.g: Fighting/Dark Chikorita evolves into Fighting/Dark Bayleef.
  22. - Pokémon movesets are randomized, but preffering moves that are of the same type as the Pokémon.
  23. - Random Pokémon on trainers, rival, gym leaders and Elite four. They go towards a specific type of Pokémon though, and the Rival always has his starter. For example, Bug Catcher Anthony has a Fire Pinsir and a Fire/Rock Combusken. Also names and types are randomized (just for fun, Swimmer Rival wants to battle!).
  24. - Random Pokémon of similar strength are replaced on a 1-to-1 pattern on every wild area.
  25. - Minimum catch rate capped (Pokémon with less than 45 catch rate, i.e. less than a starter in the wild, will be set to 45).
  26. - Static Pokémon (Zapdos on Power Plant) replaced by Pokémon of the same characteristics (Legendary if it was, etc.)
  27. - TMs Randomized. HMs left unscathed. A Pokémon will go towards learning a TM of his same type.
  28. - Random requested AND given Pokémon on in-game trades, as well as random items they hold, nicknames and Original Trainer.
  29. - Items on the field (little Pokéballs) are shuffled. Every item can be found, but they are not in the same place. Exception to this are HMs.
