GTA VR is a free third-party mod for Grand Theft Auto V offline which works with VorpX and the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift to give an enhanced Virtual Reality (VR) experience. This mod has been tested with the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive by users on the Oculus sub-reddit and the HTC Vive sub-reddit.

Native head tracking

Support for native head tracking is added via OpenVR. The in-game camera is modified to follow the movements of the head-mounted display (HMD), giving native 1:1 tracking for both rotational and positional head movements without the need for finicky mouse emulation sensitivity tuning.

Tracked controllers

Use your HTC Vive or Oculus Touch controllers to naturally aim, shoot, move, teleport and select your weapon!

Automatic field-of-view (FOV) correction

The rendered FOV of the in-game camera is automatically set to the value calculated using your Oculus profile for a natural looking view. No manual configuration or external FOV fixes are necessary with this mod.

De-coupled look, movement and aim

Weapon aim and character controls are de-coupled (i.e. separated) from your view. No more look-to-aim a.k.a. gun-face! De-coupled look and movement also allows you to view and explore the city comfortably while walking, riding and driving naturally.

Improved comfort in VR

Eliminated head-bobbing and undesirable camera movements from character animations and character rag-dolling. Activate the teleportation option to further reduce the need for walking and to maximise exploration efficiency!

How to Install Grand Theft Auto 5 Mods?

Installing GTV V mods in 2020 is quite simple, but depends on which mods you are trying to download. There are mods where some scripts need more tools than simply copy-pasting. There are 2 tools you need to download – (Script Hook V and GTAV LUA Plugin) before installing any mod in GTA 5.

How to install Script Hook V

Script Hook V is a library of files created by Alexander Blade. These scripts/files allow different modders to write scripts and hook into Grand Theft Auto’s singleplayer mode. It includes Asi Loader and Native Trainer which allows you to access cheats such as teleportation, fast run, and super jump. Here is how to install it.

• Step 1: Open the .zip you just downloaded
• Step 2: Copy ScriptHookV.dll to GTAV’s main folder(SteamAppscommonGrand Theft Auto V).
• Step 3: Do the same for the Asi Loader(dsound.dll) and NativeTrainer.asi

How to install GTAV LUA Plugin

LUA is a language(you might be familiar with) and it allows people to write LUA scripts that work with the game. Now that Script Hook V is installed, let’s install this Plugin if you want to write some custom scripts for GTA 5.

• Step 1: Open the .zip you just downloaded and look for a folder called ‘scripts’ and a LUA.asi file.
• Step 2: Copy them in the same folder as before(SteamAppscommonGrand Theft Auto V).
• Step 3: Now look for ‘addins’ folder inside the Scripts Folder you just created.
• Step 4: Here you will Copy/Drop all the LUA files that you download in the future.
